Discussions focused on Luxembourg's defence policy, the Grand Duchy's role in NATO, Luxembourg's defence projects in the cyber and space domains, and Luxembourg's defence guidelines for 2035.

"The efforts of Allied Command Transformation are essential to the transformation of the Alliance as a whole and of each of the Allied armed forces, in order to be ready to face the many challenges identified and to generate the strategic advantage required," declared François Bausch. He added: "Luxembourg takes its commitment to NATO very seriously. We are transforming our army and developing our commitment in NATO areas such as space, cyberspace and the air. We will remain a reliable and valuable ally."

"As pooling and sharing are part of Luxembourg's military DNA, this approach is a model of integration, interoperability and therefore of genuine multi-milieu, multi-field operations", remarked General Lavigne during his visit.

That same day, General Lavigne also had a meeting with the Chief of Staff of the Luxembourg Army, General Steve Thull. The subjects of the meeting were the current operations of the Luxembourg army, the future law on the organisation of the army and the current state of implementation of the future bi-national Belgian-Luxembourg battalion.
